Thermography, commonly referred to as infrared (IR). When IR is properly used, in conjunction with other moisture sensing equipment, it can help identify air and water leaks on roofs and walls. Information gathered during the IR survey can then be us to develop a plan for corrective actions.
Testing for air leakage can involve a number of different test scenarios ranging from a single location as shown to whole building testing. Air leakage testing is most beneficial when performed on a functional mockup.
Water testing can be performed on virtually any surface or system. IWB finds that testing is most beneficial for any area that is not easily accessible for maintenance or repair, i.e., plaza decks, green roofs or areas providing waterproofing for critical building areas.
